Mostly rolling gravel roads with some short climbs. Expect potholes and washboard and possibility of recent maintenance that could leave loose dirt or gravel on the surface. Recommend gravel or cyclocross tires for comfort and safety. This is intended to be a social/casual ride. There will be some regrouping but if you’re concerned about the pace, please bring a ride buddy. I expect to average about 13 mph. You’re welcome to ride your preferred pace. Start right in the middle of Loudoun’s finest unpaved roads at Banneker Elementary School, 35231 Snake Hill Rd, Middleburg, 20117. (The address is Middleburg, but the school is in the historic village of St Louis.) Do not plan on restrooms at the school. The portable is usually locked in the Summer.
